Fine Arts courses encourage academic achievement, social and emotional development, civic engagement, and equitable opportunity.
Through creativity, self-expression, drawing, reading, speaking, and writing, students build essential life skills such as aesthetic awareness, cultural exposure, creativity, improved emotional expression, as well as social harmony, and appreciation of diversity. While these skills are essential to daily life, they are equally essential for us to experience a colorful life within which we build a deeper understanding of the world around us.
The Fine Arts standards for grades 6-12 illustrate what your child will learn in middle school and high school. The Fine Arts standards focus on key concepts in band, orchestra, choir, and visual art and design as outlined in the middle school and high school Fine Arts learning outcomes below.
Middle school students also focus on digital production.
