The Sioux City Career Academy allows students to make a connection between their education and their future with meaningful, real-world experiences.
The Sioux City Community School District understands students today are entering a highly competitive global workforce. In order to be successful, students need adaptable skills and knowledge to meet the demands of the ever-changing economy. That is why we created the Sioux City Career Academy. The Sioux City Career Academy offers over 30 pathways for students to explore. Each pathway is a career-focused sequence of high school courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to post-secondary education and careers.

Students can explore opportunities with the Sioux City Career Academy to develop their passions and learn what they love. Explore our 30+ pathways.
Dual Credit
Students that participate in the Sioux City Career Academy can benefit from BOTH high school and college credits. During the 2018 – 2019 school year, students earned over 14,000 college credits.
College Credit at No Added Cost
The Sioux City Community School District has a contract with Western Iowa Tech Community College that enables students to earn up to 23 college credits per year tuition-free. That means students can begin coursework for college – and in some cases even earn an associate’s degree or certification – at no cost to parents!
Enhanced Social Experience
Because the Sioux City Career Academy brings together students from all three of the high schools – East High, North High, and West High – students of the Academy benefit from an enhanced social experience. Relationships are formed between students that may not typically meet in the traditional high school setting. Plus, in many instances, these students form a more meaningful connection, because they have a shared interest in their academic area of focus.
Facilities
High school has a new look with these modern career academy campuses. Students are not walking into the traditional classroom laced with desks and lecture spaces. Career academy classes have industry-relevant technology and mirror real-world settings.
Educational Service Center’s Career Academy Campus
This expanded downtown campus is home to the larger majority of the pathway classes. The 75,000 square foot facility is currently home to 24 classrooms, collaboration spaces, and dining space.
Harry Hopkins Campus
The Harry Hopkins Campus is equipped with innovative equipment to give students a real-world experience in the technical pathways such as auto body, auto tech, and welding.
