Course Description

This course is an advanced, more in-depth study of aerospace topics. This academically challenging course is the foundation for students interested in receiving a private pilot license. When the course is complete the student should be prepared to take and pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) written examination. This is a two-semester class. Topics covered include human factors, flight operations, the atmosphere, and its effect on aircraft operations, the basics of navigation using charts and radio aids, and the principles of aeronautical decision-making and flight-related physiological factors.
