Course Description

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to various aspects of the fashion design and merchandising industry. Students integrate knowledge, skills, and practice to evaluate potential career opportunities. Emphasis is placed on an introduction to fashion, design, sourcing, costing, and marketing. Students will also study designers, historical and current trends, fashion vocabulary, styles in relation to various body types and personalities. The program is enriched by a fashion show created and produced by the students.
