Financial Practices that Benefit Students

The Sioux City Community School District operates with a budget of approximately $227.1 million. By maintaining current and accurate business records, the finance department supports the District in making appropriate financial decisions that benefit student learning and facility operation. The finance department is responsible for:

  • Development and submission of the District’s certified budget
  • Completion of the District’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
  • Financial reporting to the Board of Directors
  • Development and monitoring of the District’s operational budget
  • Purchasing
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivable 
  • Payroll and benefits, in collaboration with Human Resources
