#SCCSD January Staff Members of the Month

Lynn Brown, Instructional Assistant @ Loess Hills Elementary

Lynn is always ready to assist students with a smile on her face. She joins staff for PLC and helps plan interventions while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude. Lynn always goes above and beyond what is expected. She is truly here for the kiddos and displays this daily.

Dave Henry, Building Service Technician @ Loess Hills Elementary

Dave has been challenged with the daunting task of keeping our building, sidewalks, parking lots, and playgrounds clean and safe for travel. Dave is always helping others when he is needed and is great with the students at Loess Hills. Many staff members have said Dave is one of the best janitors they have ever worked with.

Jo Ann Schmaltz, Instructional Assistant @ North High School

Jo Ann brings out the best in all students. She helps them to be successful and accountable. Jo Ann is exceptionally patient, hard working, and kind. She exemplifies the STARS qualities and inspires the students at North High to do the same.

Kim Brown, Consulting Teacher @ Morningside Elementary School

Kim works to improve student achievement by providing support and coaching for teachers. Kim works with teachers and administrators to look at data, set goals from that information, and then use those goals to assist teachers in planning for instruction. Recently Kim has done a great job expanding the learning opportunities for our students and tying those opportunities to our curriculum. Not only does she work with staff members, but she also finds ways to connect the community to current happenings at Morningside STEM Elementary School.

Brad Fahrendholz, Building Service Tech @ Leeds Elementary School

Brad always does an outstanding job of keeping our school clean. He always stays positive and interacts with students. He does his job with a smile on his face and a batman cape on his back. You can tell he enjoys his job. During the recent snowstorm, he shoveled all the walkways by hand because the snow blower stopped working. He truly is an asset to our school.

Erin Michael, First Grade Teacher @ Leeds Elementary School

Erin is an excellent teacher. She is kind, nurturing, and patient. She works well with all of her students, but especially those with troubled backgrounds. She builds positive relationships and helps her students build their confidence and self-esteem. She creates a safe and warm environment in her classroom that is fun and engaging. She is truly is a phenomenal teacher.

Brian Hill, Exploratory Teacher @ North Middle School

Brian goes above and beyond to ensure students are equipped with the necessary 21st century skills to be successful in their future endeavors. He also provides opportunities for students to be “creators as well as consumers of information.” Any visitor who walks into his classroom observes students working collaboratively, solving problems, sharing ideas, and generating new ideas.
