SCCSD receives grant from EPA to replace school buses
The Sioux City Community School District is one of sixteen Iowa school districts to receive awards from the federal Environmental Protection Agency that will reduce emissions from their school bus fleets.
The funds are used to purchase new buses or retrofit existing ones to reduce pollutants that are linked to health problems as such asthma and lung damage.
Iowa’s awardees are:
- AHSTW Community School District
- Atlantic Community School District
- Bondurant-Farrar Community School District
- Clear Lake School District
- Fairfield Community School District
- Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School
- Greene County School District
- Humboldt Community School District
- Independence Community School District
- New Hampton Community School District
- Pekin Community School District
- Sigourney Community School District
- Sioux City Community School District
- Turkey Valley Community School District
- West Hancock Community School District
- West Liberty Community School District
