East High & North High to perform at Iowa Jazz Championships
East High and North High Jazz Ensembles will participate in the Iowa Jazz Championships in Stephens Auditorium at Iowa State University on April 5. The showcase will feature 60 of the state’s finest high school jazz ensembles, 15 groups from each of the four high school classifications. Selection to perform at the Iowa Jazz Championships is a prestigious honor awarded to school with exceptional performances at the district competitions.
East High, directed by Anna Scott, will perform at 12:45p.m., and North High, directed by Faith Hall, will perform at 1:15p.m. All ensembles perform in the daytime preliminary competition, and the top two bands from each classification perform in the evening finals competition.
