Perry Creek 5th grader qualifies for National American Miss Pageant Finals

A Sioux City fifth grader has qualified for a national pageant in California.

Madeline Farrens, a student at Perry Creek Elementary School, has qualified for the National American Miss National Pageant in Anaheim, Calif.

She will compete as “Miss Sioux City” in November.

Madeline won the Miss Iowa speech competition and received the Miss Congeniality award.

Last fall, she held a book drive at Perry Creek Elementary and Clark Early Childhood Center with  3,500 books donated to the Sioux City Housing Authority’s Little Free Library.

The book drive fulfilled her community service portion of the National American Miss project and placed in the top 5 in the state NAM competition.
