Community resources on display during West High parent-teacher conferences
A community resource fair took over West High in Sioux City Monday during parent-teacher conferences.
It’s the second annual fair at the school.
The free event had agencies from around Siouxland, including the Planned Parenthood education department, Jackson Recovery, and the Human Trafficking Coalition.
Bernie Scolaro, a West High School counselor said it is a good chance for students and parents to get exposed to different organizations in the area.
“We felt it was important again to get the information out to our families in the community because I think there’s a lot of need out there and again they don’t always the resources to get themselves to these agencies and find out the information so I thought it was important that we bring it to them,” said Scolaro.
The school hopes to continue this community fair for years to come.
