Cheraine Bromander, ESL Teacher @ Morningside Elementary

“To start the year, Cheraine has outdone herself in working to meed the needs of our students. She has been very intentional about collaborating with staff to maximize the impact she has while co-teaching in their classrooms. Cheraine is also routinely visible in the mornings and after school to assist and form positive relationships with students.”

“Denny goes above and beyond in completing his duties and responsibilities as our night building custodian. He is always willing to help out whenever needed and does everything with a smile and positive attitude. Denny works tirelessly during the summer months to make sure our students come back to a clean and safe school building each year.”

“Few would argue the amazing role Gail plays at East Middle School! She is a fantastic leader of our guidance department, the best listener, and always has a positive attitude. If any child is in need, she does what she can to help. Gail is full of knowledge and energy, and the perfect candidate for this honor. She is so dedicated and deserving of special recognition.”

All the students at Irving love him and truly enjoy the engaging and fun games he creates for P.E. class. “Mary is the friendly face that greets Bryant students, staff, and parents every morning. She is always willing to go the extra mile to assist parents with any questions and concerns related to their children. She also publishes our weekly Bearmail and monthly Beartales. Mary’s communication skills are outstanding and we are lucky to have her at Bryant Elementary!”

Holly Macfarlane, Early Childhood Education Career Academy Teacher @ Clark Early Childhood Center

“Each morning, Holly welcomes high school students to Clark and teachers the various aspects of childhood development. Holly has worked to develop, design, promote, lead, and implement this program at Clark.”

“Jess does an exceptional job in her role at EHS. She goes above and beyond to make sure her students feel confident and comfortable in their surroundings. She does a fantastic job of being the connection to school that some students were lacking before her arrival. Jess’ kids respect her, and it is evident they want to work and succeed for her.”

Jo Ann Reynolds, Office Manager @ Riverside Elementary

“Jo Ann is incredibly compassionate, helpful, and dedicated to her work at Riverside. No matter how bust she is, she always finds time to help anyone in need. She will volunteer her assistance even if she is right in the middle of her own task. Jo Ann doesn’t get frustrated and is welcoming of the questions people may have. She is the best and we’re glad she’s a Roadrunner!”

Jody Vanderloo, Title I Teacher @ Loess Hills Elementary

“Jody always has a smile on her face and is willing to help anyone. She words hard daily to meet the needs of students and has had a major influence on the success of coding in the building. Jody has also led PD, been on the Foundation committee, led the Walking School Bus, and supported PBIS initiatives. Jody is a great asset to Loess Hills students and staff!”

Julie Betz, 2nd Grade Teacher @ Hunt Elementary

“Julie is a very dedicated teacher at Hunt A+ Elementary. She has taken on a new challenge this year moving from 4th grade to 2nd grade, and has been a fantastic addition to the lower elementary team. In addition to her teaching role, Julie has taken on many different jobs for PBIS and planned fun lessons to let students know they matter.”

Kirsten Bush, Special Education Paraeducator @ Perry Creek Elementary

“Kirsten assists students in special education classes, general education classrooms, during recess, lunch, and in transitions. She remains calm in stressful situations and looks for ways to assist or support whenever needed. Kirsten has been flexible with her schedule in order to meet the needs of students with social, behavioral, academic, and emotional needs.”

“Lonnel welcomes students, parents, and community members with a smile at any time of the day. She is a patient, kind, and caring person who goes above and beyond to help everyone. Lonnel truly cares about the families and students within the Loess Hills community and works hard each and every day. We are lucky to have her at Loess Hills!”

Nancy Helvig, Special Education Paraeducator @ Perry Creek Elementary

“Nancy has gone above and beyond in supporting the needs of Perry Creek students. She is willing to help out, even in stressful situations, and always keeps the needs of our students at the forefront. Nancy also assists with lining up bus students at the end of the day. She does her part to ensure students get home safely on their assigned bus.”

Stephanie White, Title Reading/Math Interventionist @ Unity Elementary

“Stephanie is our Title Reading/Math Interventionist, and previously served as a first grade teacher. Members of the Unity team commented on Stephanie’s passion for serving colleagues, her constant willingness to help out whenever and wherever needed, and her deep love for children. We are lucky to have Stephanie at Unity!”

Steve Hammer, Building Service Tech. @ Nodland Elementary

“Steve was nominated for this honor because of his continued commitment to the students and staff at Nodland Elementary. Steve diligently carries out his duties every day, and does so much more than what is expected of him. Steve goes far beyond the duties of his job description on a daily basis. He is a great asset and does everything with a positive attitude.”
