East High debate team sees success at Fall Classic
The Sioux City East High School debate team saw great success at the Des Moines East High Fall Classic this past weekend, with over 10 individuals selected for finals. This was the first debate tournament for the East High team this school year.
The following Sioux City Community School District East High debate students received honors for their performances:
Dramatic Interpretation – Carter Vanderloo, 2nd place
Humorous Interpretation – Whitney Lester, 4th place
Duo Interpretation – Janaya Barnes and Jacob Licht, 1st place
Duo Interpretation – Ella Voloshen and Brian Nathaniel, 2nd place
Original Oratory – Nyamal Dhol, 3rd place
Informative – Annabelle Helms, 3rd place
Spontaneous Speaking – Rueben Arellano, 3rd place in Honors Finals
Congress House A. – Ben Shaputis, 6th place
Public Forum – Alexa Ringling and Whitney Lester, 3-2 record
