Spalding Park receives donation of 700 headphones

PURO donation

A California company specializing in earphones made a surprise donation to a Sioux City elementary school.

Puro Sound Labs gave 700 pairs of earphones to Spalding Park Elementary during the holiday break, thanks to an East High School graduate who wanted to help local students and enhance their learning experience with high-end technology.

Puro Sound Labs promotes noise reduction, making it easier for students to focus on what they’re listening to.

East High School graduate Connor Treft works for the company and is the son of the school district nurse Nancy Treft.

“His boss Dave Russell was also from the Sioux City area, and they had decided to make one to the Siouxland area, and they suggested a school so it would make good sense that I would take the donation for Spalding Elementary,” said Nancy.

“I’m just very grateful and I’m very humbled for such a generous donation and it takes a team for this to happen,” said Principal, Mimi Moore.

School officials say they’re excited to use these earphone, which block outside noise and reduce sound to a safe level for young ears.
