Loess Hills Elementary’s artwork heading to the White House
A few Siouxland elementary students had the chance to put on their creative caps Monday.
The kids at Loess Hill Elementary school drew on and designed an Easter egg that is heading for the white house.
Loess Hill is the only school in the state that was selected to create an egg for the annual Easter Egg Roll event on Capitol Hill.
The theme this year is STEM, meaning science, technology, engineering, and math.
Principal at Loess Hill Computer Programming Elementary School John Beeck said, “We’re flattered we’re honored that we were selected and I give all the credit to our teachers and staff that have helped make Loess Hills the computer elementary pilot school for the whole state and again we’re getting recognized its something we’re very proud of.”
Loess Hill’s egg will feature Iowa logos, computer coding symbols, and the Lynx mascot.
The finished egg will be completed by mid-April and will be sent off to be displayed at the White House.
