Sioux City juniors take ACT for free during school day
Taking the ACT exam is a traditional part of a student’s transition from high school to college. But for some, the cost associated with taking the test and the transportation needed to get to the testing site can be a deterrent.
On Tuesday, 1,000 juniors in the Sioux City Community School District got the opportunity to take the ACT at absolutely no cost to them or their families, thanks to funding from the US Department of Education “Gear Up” program. The goal of the program is to help students succeed.
