Sioux City Career Academy engineering students showcase capstone projects
What could you do to change the world?
Sioux City Career Academy engineering students answered that question by showcasing capstone projects at the Ho-Chunk Center on May 15, 2019.
Captsone projects develop a solution to common technical problems.
The students researched, designed, tested, and constructed solutions to a problem they chose.
Some of those problems included ‘How can we grow lettuce that has a longer shelf life?’ and ‘How can we reduce styrofoam in landfills and oceans?’
During the presentations, panelists asked questions and provided feedback.
Many of the students say the projects and presentations helped them become better prepared for their future careers.
