Sioux City School District adding new options to its summer meal program
The Sioux City School District is adding new options this summer to its summer meal program for low-income kids.
A second bus will now be joining the mobile food fleet allowing the district to add stops and making sure kids in the community have access to healthy meals over the summer break.
“This year we did have the opportunity to create a second food on a fly bus similar to the one we are on right now. So with that addition, we were able to add additional stops and it’s to help keep the kids nourished and feed throughout the summer when school is not in session,” said a school representative.
The program’s not just for kids, adults can buy meals for $4.
The mobile food buses are open from June 3rd to August 9th along with 25 stationary service locations.
