Bryant Elementary celebrates first day in new building
Friday. August 23 was the first day for Sioux City’s newest school, Bryant Elementary.
Students began classes in the new building and came together to express their school spirit with a song.
The new building sits on the site of the old Bryant which was more than 100 years old when it was demolished in 2016.
“This new Bryant Elementary School is over 100.000 square feet built to serve over 600 students. We have about 450 current students in this building. They are very excited as they came together today, as they said the pledge of allegiance and get ready for their learning and this new school year,” said Dr. Paul Gausman, Superintendent of the Sioux City Community School District.
While their new school was under construction, Bryant students had attended the old Crescent Park Elementary.
