Four exchange teachers from Spain provide a unique way to learn at a Siouxland elementary school

Four exchange teachers from Spain provide a unique way to learn at Irving Elementary.

Kindergarten and first grade students at Irving Elementary in Sioux City are getting their education in English and Spanish.

The exchange teachers teach 50-percent of the class in English and the other 50-percent in Spanish.

The teachers say there are many benefits to learning another language, including improving memory, and enhancing the ability to multi-task.

The dual language program is for native Spanish speakers and for those learning the language for the first time.
