Jensen Subaru donates books to students at Liberty Elementary
A local car dealership is promoting reading by donating books to students at a local elementary school.
This year’s recipients are 4th and 5th-grade students at Liberty Elementary on the west side.
Jensen Subaru says this is a local version of a nationwide program from Subaru to encourage, support and enhance reading opportunities for kids.
“Anytime that we can bring more books and more resources to our students to enrich their learning is a great thing,” said Principal Stacie Henderson.
This year’s books are all science-based, to encourage kids to grow and learn in STEM-related fields.
“I still feel the advancement of sciences is what we are going to look to in the future and so if we could help in any way starting at this level lets get after it lets do it,” said Gary Troth from Jensen Imports.
This is the third year for the program in Sioux City.
