Kids at one Siouxland elementary school are learning key life skills, all while having some fun.

Liberty Elementary began “House Games” for the 2019 School Year.

There are 8 different “houses,” in which the students are divided up when they start attending the school.
They remain in their house throughout elementary school.

House activities are planned periodically, and students who have been recognized for their good behavior get to participate.

Teams are also taught and monitored for house spirit, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Older students are teamed up with younger students to build relationships and develop leadership.

“Our ultimate goal of all of this is to make our school a place kids want to be,” said Liberty Elementary Principal Stacie Henderson. “We want to be engaging and fun, but at the same time we want to teach them all the core values that are necessary for them to be lifelong citizens.”

This is Liberty Elementary’s 4th year taking part in House Games.
