Siouxland high schoolers learn about the dangers of distracted driving
Students at Sioux City’s three public high schools got a lesson on the importance of not texting while driving.
Cliff Hageman, the founder of “STANDriving”, spoke at East, North and West High.
Hageman was seriously injured in a car crash caused by a driver distracted by their cell phone but is now working to save 1 million lives by stopping people from texting and driving.
“S.T.A.N.D, stop texting and driving, is six times worse than drunk driving. We all have a responsibility to each other to be off the phones while we are in the car,” Hageman said.
