Santa ditches sleigh, arrives by helicopter to visit Siouxland kids
While Rudolph, Donner, Blitzen and the gang are resting up for Christmas, Santa and Mrs. Claus found an alternative way to swoop into a local school to bring holiday joy to the kids.
MercyOne Air Med transported Santa to the Clark Early Childhood Center on the north end of Hamilton Boulevard Tuesday morning. Once they were firmly on the ground, they handed out candy canes to the kids who are in preschool, transitional kindergarten and kindergarten.
“It’s important for us to come out into the community and meet the kids and show them that we are emergency responders and we have an aircraft in our community. Obviously Santa wanted to come to meet the children and say hello and make sure everyone is being good for Christmas,” Mr. and Mrs. Claus told Siouxland News.
Not only did the kids get treats, but they also had a chance to check out the helicopter and ask the MercyOne Air Med crew questions.
