Leeds principal makes safe home visits to students amidst school closure

Mrs. Bemus visits students at home during COVID-19 school closures

The principal of Leeds Elementary School spent her Thursday, surprising students with a personal home visit. While schools are closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, these visits maintain the connection between students and their school community.

Mrs. Angela Bemus did this kind gesture as a way to reassure students, the school is thinking about them, and that she is only a message away.

Students were treated with a little gift bag on the porch or hallway.

In a message to Siouxland News, Bemus said, “I wanted to ensure the students knew we were there for them and that Leeds is not the same without them. They need to know how special they are to us. We have them all day everyday. They need to know we love them. I just wanted to make sure if they needed the reassurance I was able to give it to them!”

She is also scheduling visits for Friday as well.
