SCCSD Free Meal Service Extended

School Meals Illustration

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved an extension of the FREE Breakfast and Lunch program for Sioux City Community School District students. Free meals will be available through the end of the school year. All students enrolled in On-Site Learning will receive free breakfast and lunch at school. All students enrolled in Virtual Learning can pick up meals according to the meal distribution schedule.

Ala carte options will still be available; however, ala carte items are not covered by the USDA funding, and students will be charged separately for ala carte items. You can pay for ala carte items on the District website. Please also make sure your child’s lunch balance through September 11 is paid in full. Follow this link to pay your lunch fees online.

Families are still encouraged to complete the Iowa Eligibility Meal Application.

If your family typically receives free and/or reduced-price meals, you are still encouraged to complete the Iowa Eligibility Meal Application. Data from these applications help the District qualify for state and federal funding from grants and other funding sources. These funds allow us to provide enhanced educational opportunities in our District. We need your help to ensure our 2020-21 free and reduced meal data remains current and accurate.  You can complete the Iowa Eligibility Meal Application online (Apply here) or pick up an application from your child’s school.
