Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics and Code of Rights and Responsibilities

Code Number: 400.1

Licensed educators in Iowa are guided and governed by the Iowa Department of Education (DE) and the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BoEE). It is Board policy that all licensed employees of the District adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics and the Code of Rights and Responsibilities of the BoEE.

Employees are role models for the students who come in contact with them during and after school hours. The Board recognizes the positive effect employees can have on students in this capacity. To this end, the Board expects that employees will conduct themselves in a professional manner appropriate to the educational environment.

Licensed employees of the District, including administrators, will follow the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics in conjunction with the Code of Rights and Responsibilities as established by the BoEE.
