Code Number: 1001.80
- Except as provided in Paragraph B, prior to distribution, non-district materials must be approved by the Superintendent’s designee in the District’s Educational Service Center in accordance with the Administrative Regulation.
- Without prior review by Educational Service Center personnel, Principals may approve notices that are specific to their school, such as student birthday parties, fundraisers by school-related clubs, etc. Non-district materials must be appropriate for students and come from non-profit or not-for-profit organizations and/or agencies.
If there is any question whether a particular item falls into this category, it should be forwarded to the Educational Service Center for review. Principals will require any item distributed pursuant to this section to contain the following statement: “THIS MATERIAL IS NEITHER ENDORSED NOR SPONSORED BY THE SIOUX CITY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT.” - Permission to distribute the material does not imply approval of its content by the school, the administration, the Board, or the district’s employees. Approval for distribution of all non-district materials will be granted or denied on a content-neutral basis, except that the District shall retain the right to impose reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions on such distributions as detailed by Administrative Regulation.
