School Raffles, Bingo, or Games of Skill or Chance

State law regulates raffles, bingo, and games of skill or chance, by schools and school support groups. The Board authorizes the District and District schools to apply for charitable gambling licenses as required to conduct fund-raising activities benefiting educational purposes and the Superintendent or his/her designee is authorized to apply for the District license. The Superintendent or his/her designee is responsible for ensuring that all such activities conducted by District schools are in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

The Building Administrator of any school wishing to hold a raffle, bingo game or other game of skill or chance must obtain advance permission to do so and insure that appropriate licensure is in place by submitting a request to the Superintendent or his/her designee in accordance with the AR 1005.7.

The Superintendent or his/her designee is responsible for the supervision of any District activities regulated by state gaming laws and in accordance with AR 1005.7.
